Welcome to my new category, Money Matters! Where I’ll share with you money saving tips for groceries and household tid-bits (see below). Ways you can earn an income from home and my new mission, reducing our household waste, especially use of plastic shopping bags, to three 13-gallon bags a month. Yikes!! Three bags! That would be down from approximately ten bags a month. Yes, our trash fills up fast. And I try to recycle any and everything I can!
What sparked this sudden urge to cut waste, specifically plastic? Last night I read an article about recycling and how little plastic gets recycled, how it can only be recycled a finite amount of times and that plastic never “goes away”. It breaks down into microscopic pieces that get into our waters, food supplies and our bodies.
Then, a couple weeks ago, I saw a YouTube video about the impact plastic shopping bags are having on the environment. How important it is to use reusable shopping bags; boycott the plastic bags! That’s my first goal. To rid my life of the plastic shopping bags by October 1st. Why don’t you join me?
